Running through veins and arteries, at a pace dictated by the human system, blood runs throughout our bodies, enabling organisms to function, This design is inspired by the importance of this fluid, and how it could save people's lives when put into a function such as a blood bank. The pattern created on the brick jaali is a combination of colors and abstract patterns formed when blood is diffused. Used as a striking element of design for the whole of the maternity hospital, the blood bank façade walls stand out. Patterned brick jaails are not just elegant aesthetic features, but also a climatically responsive approach to the climate of the site. The Jaali produces an air channel that cools the interior spaces while also providing privacy to the insides. Exposed concrete and pitched clay tile roofs are other elements that contribute to the overall design of the space.
